Readers vs. Members vs. Paid Members

Readers are any and all curious beings who end up on this internet space. Readers can include humanoid and non-humanoid life forms, artificial intelligences, ghosts, spirits, and other non-corporeal entities. The Science of Fiction is a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Members are readers who sign up to get this newsletter delivered to their inbox. Newsletters come about once a week, typically on Saturdays so you can enjoy them after the work week is over.

Paid members are exceptionally cool subscribers who have decided they like The Science of Fiction so much they're willing to put down some money to help support it. Paid members are the readers that allow this newsletter to exist.

Why Pay?

The Science of Fiction wouldn't be sustainable without paid members. So if you can't imagine your life without weekly explainers on how biology and geology and physics intersect with pop culture, becoming a paid member is a great way to ensure you'll never have to live such an impoverished existence. The more folks pay to receive The Science of Fiction, the more time and resources I'm able to devote to reporting stories thoroughly and making this newsletter the very best version of itself. Payment tiers are $5 a month or $50 a year.

Plus, if you pay, you'll unlock cool paid member-only perks, including discussion threads, occasional essays, and bite-sized knowledge treasures that might not merit a full post but are absolutely worth knowing.
